Practical Skills and  Demonstrations

Each week another video is added to the library to support the learning journey through the course content. The collection grows week by week to form a searchable library of over 80 videos when the course completes (Oct 2027). Wherever possible, videos are relevant to the topic taught in that week's tuition session so that they enhance and enrich student's understanding. Videos demonstrate the practicals recommended in the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE for Biology (9-1) specification, as well as a whole lot of other practical demonstrations, experiments and activities that support and enrich the curriculum learning. Step by step, students go through the practicals with the key words, concepts and phrases that get marks in exams clearly listed at the side of the video throughout. But there's more! Biology is about so much more than passing exams, so the Practical Skills videos also include guidance for the technical skills to use equipment properly, so that students feel more confident to go forward in their biology studies after their exams. They'll see how to measure accurately with a measuring cylinder, how to correctly use a balance, how to select equipment according to precision.. and so much more. Key terms and learning points that gain marks in exams are given at the side of each video along with the relevant section of the Edexcel IGCSE Biology specification. The chapters and lessons will grow week by week to form a searchable library. Search the library by the key terms given in the title, so that you can find videos to support your current learning, whenever and wherever you're up to. Watch in your own time, speed up, slow down, pause and reflect. All videos include captions. The length of video is variable depending on topic. Some are just a few minutes, others may be 20 minutes or so.
